4. As discussed in class, why do you feel Headlines are so important in web content? Please provide me with another headline you clicked on recently (submit the exact headline including a screenshot) and outline in detail why you clicked it. In question #2, I asked why it resonated with you. For this question, I am asking why you actually clicked on it. This cannot be the same headline as question #2 (8 Marks)
Headlines are important for multiple reasons. To start, they are the first thing that a consumer sees on Google Search when it comes to your article. If your headline is weak, they are much less likely to take action and click onto your site to read the article. This is also assuming that Google has actually chosen to put your site onto their first page of search results. If you have weak headlines, it is more than likely that you will not even appear on Google in the first place. Headlines are essential to Google/SEO as they serve as titles, and they must match what they are headlining perfectly and efficiently. If they do not, then Search Engines will not recognize the taxonomy of a site as being adequate and will not display the site.
The headline that I clicked was “Rick Rubin and the Human Touch: Can AI replace Human Instinct?”
I clicked on this headline because it had an interesting subject and included a famous person whose book I just finished reading. The fact that the headline mentioned AI interested me because of this assignment specifically as we talked about the morals and ethics related to AI art in class. The headline also contained a lot of capitalized words, which caught my eye more than some of the surrounding articles. After clicking on the headline, I stayed on the site and chose this for my answer because it was listed as a 5-minute read.
